In late September 2015, as the second group of displaced residents returned to Abu Hamam, the bodies of six victims were discovered in the Halawa neighborhood of Abu Hamam near Hafsh Transformer (landlines utility pole).

Two photographs of the site, leaked by ISIS members in August 2014, show the bodies of six beheaded victims.
